Whereas since 1997, the annual Toque Campaign has supported nearly 200 community agencies across Canada, raising more than eight million to-date in support of long-term solutions to homelessness; and

Whereas the national Toque Campaign sees hundreds of volunteers and supporters selling toques across Canada, with proceeds benefitting partner agencies working directly with people experiencing homelessness.

Innisfil, ON – The flags at Innisfil’s Town Hall have been lowered to half-mast to honour and recognize Hazel McCallion, the former long-standing Mayor of Mississauga. McCallion passed away on January 29 at the age of 101.

Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil will lower its flags at Town Hall to recognize International Holocaust Remembrance Day on January 27.

January 27 was designated in 2005 as the International Day of Commemoration in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. It is also the day, in 1945, that the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp was liberated. From 1941-1945, six million Jewish people were murdered, accounting for two-thirds of the European Jewish population.
