Cycling
At the Town of Innisfil, we promote an active lifestyle for residents and visitors. Cycling is a great way to enjoy our parks and trails and stay active.
Bike lanes
As part of a pilot project, bike lanes are available on Anna Maria Ave., Janes Blvd., Leslie Dr., and Webster Blvd. In Innisfil. See our Bike Lane Map for details. Take a tour of the bicycle lanes with the video below.
The pilot project is scheduled until the end of 2021. We're using automated bicycle counters to monitor the usage of bike lanes, but we also want to hear your feedback! Visit Get Involved Innisfil to have your say and learn more about the project.
Cycling trails
We offer a variety of multi-use trails that are great for cycling. Check out the Trans Canada Trail as it winds through Innisfil or plan a longer ride to a neighbouring community.
Skateboard parks
You can take your bike to one of our skateboard parks and get some air as you tackle each feature in the park.
BMX Pump Track
Located at Innisfil Beach Park (675 Innisfil Beach Road) near parking lot F, the modular pump track features about 50 metres of hard surface track for riders aged 4 and up. We recommend adult supervision for children under 12. Please keep the following rules in mind when using the pump track:
- Park is unsupervised, use at your own risk
- CSA approved helmets are required for riders under 16 (By-law 054-21)
- Do not alter the ramps or add additional obstacles
- Do not bring food or drink onto the pump track
Bicycle safety
Safety is a top priority in Innisfil and we want to make sure that everyone is safe while riding. We've developed a Bike Helmet By-law to regulate helmet use. According to the by-law, you must meet the following safety precautions:
- You must wear a bike helmet while using the skateboard parks and BMX Pump Track in Innisfil
- Parents or guardians cannot allow anyone under the age of 16 to use a skateboard park or BMX Pump Track without wearing a helmet
