Community Food Projects Grant

Ten $1,000 grants will be awarded to community groups or organizations that are hosting food projects that promote community connection, cultural celebration, and/or improved food access. Specifically tailored to support inclusive and accessible events, we invite all interested groups to apply by February 28, 2026 with your food-related project.

 Eligibility requirements

 Only projects that fulfil our eligibility requirements will be considered:

  • Applicant must be a non-profit, charitable, grassroots, faith-based, or volunteer-led group/organization (formal registration is not required) that provides services in Innisfil or to Innisfil residents
  • The project must be food-based, and connects our community, celebrates community diversity, and/or improves food access
  • The project must take place in Innisfil from March 14 to July 31, 2026 and is geared toward Innisfil participants
  • The project must be inclusive and accessible, especially to vulnerable or underrepresented residents

Projects taking place on private land with no public access or outside of Innisfil will not be considered. Please view the Applicant Handbook for the full list of eligibility requirements.

 Eligible expenses

If you are awarded a grant, there are some restrictions on how you can use these funds.

Examples of eligible expenses: 

  • Groceries
  • Office expenses related to printing and handouts
  • Food distribution supplies
  • Gardening supplies
  • Facility rental fees
  • Participant transportation costs
  • Honoraria for guest presenters or facilitators

Examples of ineligible expenses:

  • Alcohol
  • Administrative, infrastructure, capital, or operating costs
  • Advocacy activities
  • Contingency funds
