What's happening in April 2025

National Youth Week takes place every year during the first week of May. It is an annual celebration of youth and youth engagement. This year, the Town of Innisfil is partnering with community organizations to bring you fun events from May 2 to 8:

 Friday, May 2

Teen Nights: Fridays at Lakeshore - One-year Anniversary Open House Celebration

  • Time: 5 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Location: Innisfil ideaLAB & Library - Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Road)
  • Event details: Celebrate the one-year anniversary of Teen Nights with games, crafts, snacks, swag, and more. While usually for Grades 7 to 12, we're inviting all ages to drop by and experience Teen Nights for themselves.

Youth & First Responders B-Ball

  • Time: 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Location: Innisfil YMCA (inside the Innisfil Recreational Complex at 7315 Yonge Street)
  • Event details: Drop in and shoot some hoops with local first responders, followed by pizza and drinks.

 Monday, May 5

 Teen Nights: Mondays in Lefroy - One-year Anniversary Open House Celebration

  • Time: 5 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Location: Morgan Russell Memorial Arena & Community Centre (1354 Killarney Beach Road)
  • Event details: Celebrate the one-year anniversary of Teen Nights with games, crafts, snacks, swag, and more. While usually for Grades 7 to 12, we're inviting all ages to drop by and experience Teen Nights for themselves.

 Tuesday, May 6

Culture Lab with Innisfil Arts Council

  • Time: 6 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Location: Innisfil ideaLAB & Library - Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Road)
  • Event details: Join the Innisfil Arts, Culture and Heritage Council for Culture Lab, an engaging educational workshop where teens will explore the rich history of the drum and Quammie’s historic journey. Through storytelling, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, participants will learn about the cultural significance of these instruments, their evolution over time, and their role in various traditions and ceremonies. For teens aged 13 to 18 years old. 

 Wednesday, May 7

 Teen Nights: Wednesdays at the Y - One-year Anniversary Open House Celebration

  • Time: 5 to 7:30 p.m.
  • Location: Innisfil YMCA (inside the Innisfil Recreational Complex at 7315 Yonge Street)
  • Event details: Celebrate the one-year anniversary of Teen Nights with games, crafts, snacks, swag, and more. While usually for Grades 7 to 12, we're inviting all ages to drop by and experience Teen Nights for themselves.

Youth Game Night with Innisfil Lions Club

  • Time: 7 to 9 p.m.
  • Location: Innisfil Lions Hall (982 Innisfil Beach Road)
  • Event details: Calling all 13 to 18-year-olds! Come with your siblings, friends, or parents for a fun evening of games. Free entry with donation of a non-perishable food item. Snacks and drinks will be available for purchase from the canteen (cash only).

Thursday, May 8

 Get to Know Your Local Government Session

  • Time: 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.
  • Location: Innisfil ideaLAB & Library - Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Road)
  • Event details: Calling all leaders of tomorrow! Get an inside look at the workings of local government, find out how property taxes are used, and quiz our presenters with your top questions. Pizza, Timbits, and other refreshments will be available. High school attendees can earn community service hours.

Apart from these events, our partners offer a variety of youth or community activities as part of their regular programs which will also be available during National Youth Week:

  • The Innisfil ideaLAB & Library's teen programs. Learn to create at the HackLAB, stretch your artistic muscles, drop-in to YouthCALL's Walk-in Counselling, earn volunteer service hours, and more.
  • The open programs at the Innisfil YMCA, including open gym (basketball), family open gym, open swim, and open/lane swim. These programs are available to all YMCA members or community members with the purchase of a day pass.
