You can apply and make special requests from the Town of Innisfil Mayor including:

  • Congratulatory certificates
  • Letters of support and congratulations
  • Event appearances
  • Proclamations

Please note there is a minimum of two-weeks advance notice for any special requests.

Congratulatory certificates

You may request the Mayor and Council members to participate in your celebration and present a certificate. Please email your request to officeofthemayor@innisfil.ca. Make sure to include the name(s) that you'd like to appear on the certificate and the anniversary date in your email. Please note that certificates are subject to availability.

What certificates are available?

Congratulatory certificates include:

  • Milestone birthdays (70th or over)
  • Wedding anniversaries (25th or over)
  • Grand openings
  • Service recognitions
  • Retirements
  • Anniversaries of your organization

Letters of support and congratulations

Our Mayor offers letters to sports, culture and other organizations for their event programs. Please send a request to officeofthemayor@innisfil.ca with:

  • Name, date and location of the event
  • Name of the organization
  • Any background that would be useful (e.g., how many years the event has been running, volunteer involvement, etc.)

Invite the Mayor to an event

The Mayor regularly attends events, openings, celebrations, and ceremonies throughout the Town of Innisfil.

For individuals and organizations

If you'd like to invite the Mayor to an event, you can send a formal request in writing to the Office of the Mayor by email. Please submit the following information along with the invitation:

  • Event name
  • Date and time
  • Location
  • How you would like the Mayor to participate
  • Whether the invitation is extended to the Deputy Mayor and Council Members

We will review your request and contact you if we need more information. Please note that due to a full schedule, the Mayor is not able to accept every invitation and may appoint a designate to attend on their behalf.

For businesses

You can invite the Mayor to celebrate the grand opening event for your business. Please complete our online form, which helps us ensure that your event information is communicated to the correct parties. You can also email us your request.

Our Mayor issues and signs proclamations, which are ceremonial documents that recognize the value and importance of a person, an event, a campaign or an organization for a certain day, week or month. View our past proclamations.

Please send a completed Proclamation Request form to the Clerk's Office or you can fax it to 705-436-7120. Proclamations recognize the efforts of those who enhance our community and are significant to our residents including:

  • Public awareness campaigns
  • Charitable fundraising campaigns
  • Arts and culture celebrations
