Traffic Safety Advisory Committee
The Town of Innisfil's Traffic Safety Advisory Committee (TSAC) is a committee of Council that helps promote initiatives related to traffic safety. TSAC focuses on vehicular traffic and active modes of transportation, such as walking and biking, but not on public transit or rideshare services. TSAC helps:
- Investigate and provide evidence-based recommendations for systematic traffic safety concerns (e.g. evaluating strategies to reduce the frequency of collisions at a collision-prone intersection)
- Investigate and provide recommendations on new traffic safety tools and programs (e.g. evaluating the use of automated speed enforcement or red-light camera programs)
- Educate and inform the community about traffic safety (e.g. partnering with schools to promote road safety and awareness through social media)
- Liaise with other groups and organizations when needed (e.g. responding to community organizations focused on traffic safety)
- Provide a venue for appeals of decisions made by Town staff on traffic safety
- Investigate other traffic safety matters, as needed (e.g. evaluating new programs released by the province)
Review the TSAC's Terms of Reference for more information.
