The South Simcoe Police Service (SSPS) provides joint policing services to the Town of Innisfil and the Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. The police service is governed by the Bradford West Gwillimbury/Innisfil Police Services Board, which is represented by appointed members.

The Board performs many duties, including:

• Approving the budget presented by the Chief of Police prior to municipal Council approval and negotiating collective agreements
• Appointing members of the municipal police force
• Determining police services' objectives and priorities
• Establishing policies for the effective management of the police force
