Open-air fire burning and fireworks ban in effect in Innisfil

Innisfil, ON – Due to current dry conditions, Innisfil is under an open-air burning ban effective immediately. This ban is crucial to prioritize public safety and prevent the risk of fire during this period of increased fire danger.

During this ban, all open-air burning and the use of fireworks are prohibited. This includes any type of outdoor fire, even if individuals possess an approved burn permit. The ban applies to cooking fires and any coal or charcoal wood/woodchip barbecue devices.

Road closure: Corm Street (Jans Boulevard to Matteer Court)

Corm Street (Jans Boulevard to Matteer Court) will be closed on July 17, 2025 at 4 p.m. until about 6 a.m. on July 18, 2025 for a hydrant replacement.

Road closures: Alcona Sanitary Sewer and Drainage Upgrades

As part of the Alcona Sanitary Sewer and Drainage Improvements project, the following roads will be closed to local traffic and emergency vehicles only starting at 7 a.m. on July 15, 2025:

• Crystal Beach Road (Buchanan to Tall Tree Lane)
• Crystal Beach Road (Hartley Road to Roberts Road)
• Buchanan Street (Crystal Beach Road to 9th Line)
• Hartley Road (Crystal Beach Road to Taylorwoods Boulevard)

Road closure: 5th Line and 10th Sideroad

Update: The closure is now scheduled to start July 14, 2025. 

The County of Simcoe is undertaking a culvert replacement on 10th Sideroad (County Road 54) in Innisfil. The original structure has been in service since the 1950s and has reached the end of its useful life. The project will also include other improvements, including road improvements, new steel beam guiderails, and a new pavement wearing surface to improve traffic safety and driving comfort over the bridge.​

Road closure: Lockhart Road (25th Sideroad to Weeping Willow Drive)

Lockhart Road (25th Sideroad to Weeping Willow Drive) will be closed on June 23, 2025 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. due to road work. This construction is necessary to complete an emergency water service repair. 

Local traffic only—no through access. All access points to Sandycove Acres will remain open.
