Cookstown Connecting Link Rehabilitation
The Town of Innisfil is undertaking the road rehabilitation of Queen Street and Church Street, also known as the "Cookstown Connecting Link".
Upcoming construction
The construction limits are on Queen Street and Church Street from Cookstown’s west limit (20 metres west of the Home Hardware Building Centre entrance) to Cookstown’s east limit (approximately 280 metres east of Albert Street).
The work includes:
- Resurfacing of the road
- Pavement marking restoration and painting new parking stalls
- Replacement of some concrete curb and gutter
- Adjustments to existing maintenance holes and catch basins
This project is supported with funding from the Ontario Ministry of Transportation's Connecting Links program.
Next step
Milling and paving work is scheduled to begin on September 3 and is estimated to be complete by October 28, 2024. The contractor will have at least one lane of traffic open at all times.
Areas outside of the roadway that are disturbed such as driveways and boulevards will be restored to existing conditions. The contractor will be carrying out their work between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Increased noise and some truck traffic can be expected during these hours.
On-street parking will be prohibited on Queen Street and Church Street starting September 3, 2024 at midnight.
