The Committee of Adjustment reviews applications for Minor Variances to the Zoning By-law, Fence By-law or Sign By-law or properties in the Town of Innisfil. If your project doesn't comply with these by-laws, you will need to submit a variance application. The Committee of Adjustment is a Council-appointed independent body appointed by By-law 010-23, which outlines committee appointments, terms, and procedures.

Process

The Committee of Adjustment process takes approximately two months from the time you submit an application until a decision is made and the appeal period expires. If conditions are attached to a decision, the process could take longer. If a decision is appealed to the Ontario Land Tribunal, the decision is not final until it has been approved or denied by the Tribunal.
