The Town of Innisfil is undertaking a project to reconstruct sections Lockhart Road and 25th Sideroad. The Lockhart Road reconstruction limits will extend 200 m west of 25th Sideroad and 1400 m east of 25th Sideroad ending at Lake Simcoe. The 25th Sideroad reconstruction limits will extend 180 m north of Lockhart Road and 430 m south of Lockhart Road. The project scope includes:

  • Full road reconstruction
  • Drainage improvements
  • New watermain and sewer installations
  • New traffic signals and turning lanes (Lockhart Road/25th Sideroad intersection)
  • A road end parkette at the end of Lockhart Road
  • Active transportation lanes along Lockhart Road (25th Sideroad to the lake)



Timeline

The project is expected to progress as follows. Timelines depend on utility relocations and may be subject to change. 

  • Tree clearing - Winter 2022/2023
  • Utility relocations – 2024
  • Watermain installation and drainage improvements  – 2024 
  • Road reconstruction – 2024
  • Parkette creation – 2024
  • Intersection expansion and signalization – 2024

The need to improve Lockhart Road and 25th Sideroad was identified in the Town's 2018 Transportation Master Plan. Road and infrastructure improvement projects like these are essential for keeping our community safe and connected.
