Tax Adjustments

The Tax Adjustment Form – 357 / 358 Application is used for tax adjustment for such reasons as fire, demolition, clerical/factual error, repairs and reno preventing normal use, etc.

How are my property taxes calculated?

* for the applicable class of property the amount of property tax payable on land and/or buildings is the result of a calculation using the Current Value Assessment (CVA) of a property and multiplying it by the tax rates for the applicable class of property.

The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is responsible for assessing all properties in the Town. Its main responsibility is to calculate assessed values and to classify properties according to their use. These values are provided to the Town on the annual assessment rolls. The Town, County and the Province use these values when calculating property taxes and education taxes. For more information and assessment related questions, please contact MPAC at 1-866-296-6722 or visit www.mpac.ca.
