Tree Cutting
Depending on the location and land use of your property, you may not be able to cut down trees without approval from the Town of Innisfil or other regulating authorities. Please contact us to find out if there are any restrictions for tree removal on your property.
Can I remove trees from my property?
Tree cutting is prohibited on any land that is subject to site plan control without prior approval from the Town. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Waterfront homes
- Commercial properties
- Industrial properties
If your property contains more than one hectare of woodlands, you'll be subject to the regulations in the County of Simcoe Forest Conservation By-law. View the County's Forest Conservation By-law permit process to learn more.
Your property may also be regulated by a local conservation authority. Check out the following conservation authorities for more information:
What do I do if the tree on the boulevard is dead?
Trees that grow on the boulevard are Town trees. If you have any questions or concerns about the health of the tree or tree removal, please contact us.
Emerald Ash Borer tree removals
Discover the ways in which the Town controls the spread of the invasive Emerald Ash Borer beetle; a bug species that can devastate the local Ash tree population. Our Ash Borer Program works to survey and remove standing dead and dangerous trees from the community and replant a variety of trees that are not susceptible to the same infestation.
