Ice Storm Response and Updates
The Town of Innisfil declared a Significant Weather Event on March 30, 2025 at 9 a.m. in accordance with the Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways. The weekend storm caused severe ice conditions that led to power outages, downed trees and powerlines, and hazardous road conditions.
The Significant Weather Event will remain in place until crews are able to clear all roads of tree debris.
Restoring power
InnPower has restored power to most of Innisfil. As of approximately 10:30 p.m. on April 3, less than 30 customers remain without power due to significant damage. Crews remain in place and will continue working until all residents are restored.
Additional crews have been brought in from Enova Power, K-Line, Wasaga Distribution, Orangeville Hydro, Ontario Line Clearing, Weller, and more to assist with removing and replacing broken poles, repairing fallen lines, and clearing damaged trees.
If you are without power, please watch InnPower's social media or outage map for status updates or contact them using their reporting tools.
Ongoing clean-up
All Town roads have been restored to full width as crews begin collecting and chipping debris. There is a large cleanup ahead and we ask residents for their understanding and patience.
If you are dealing with large trees on your private property, we recommend reaching out to a local tree service for assistance. For any trees that have caused damage to your property, please contact your homeowners’ insurance company for further guidance.
We are identifying and addressing blockages in our drainage system to ensure stormwater can flow properly. To help water flow around your property, please clear debris from ditches and culverts if possible. For your safety, avoid walking, driving or playing in moving waters.
The recent storm has caused extensive damage, including many downed and unstable trees. For your safety, please avoid all park areas and trails at this time. Staff are actively assessing and addressing hazards, but ongoing adverse weather may create additional risks.
Reporting damage
Residents who encounter fallen trees or blocked roads are encouraged to report them by calling the Town’s Customer Service team at 705-436-3710 or using the online reporting portal.
Waste collection
