Summer operations at the Town of Innisfil
With nice weather around the corner, our Operations team is getting ready for the upcoming season to keep our parks, sports fields, and beaches looking pristine and our roads safe for our residents.
Our Parks team maintains nearly 200 locations around the municipality, from our parks and open spaces, to our boulevards, road ends, trails, stormwater ponds, and beaches. Innisfil Beach Park is our “central attraction hub” for tourists who come from all over to enjoy our beach and park amenities. Crews work stationary within this park to complete various grounds and facilities maintenance practices day and night. Our Parks team also maintains the “campus grounds” through horticulture, field and ground maintenance activities. Our “campus grounds” includes Town Hall, South Simcoe Police, Rizzardo Health & Wellness Centre, Innsifil Recreation Complex (IRC), Operations Centre, InnPower, and our premier soccer and baseball fields. Staff working primarily out of the IRC are responsible for these grounds along with the maintenance and operation of the facility, including ice rentals, slab rentals, special events, building maintenance and ice maintenance.
Once the snow stops falling, our Roads team will be quick to start repairing potholes, removing roadside debris, and begin street sweeping activities. Our residents will also see our team out in the community for tree maintenance on roadway right of ways, road grading, ditch clean outs, repairing and updating signs, and cleaning our catch basins and culverts.
