Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil is excited to continue the celebration of Winter Weekends with free or low-cost events and activities happening at the Innisfil Recreational Complex and Rizzardo Health & Wellness Centre. Community members can enjoy a pancake breakfast with Council, attend a Health and Wellness Fair, take part in recreational activities, and watch a hockey game all on the Town’s Civic Campus this Saturday, February 4.

“The fun of Innisfil Winter Weekends continues as we welcome February with so much happening throughout the month,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “This weekend, I join Council in inviting residents to a pancake breakfast followed by other entertaining activities all day long to keep people healthy and connected this season.”

Events begin with a complimentary pancake breakfast with Town Council at the Innisfil Recreational Complex from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The menu includes hot fluffy pancakes, sausage and fruit, along with hot beverages sponsored by Tempo Flexible Packaging. Throughout breakfast, people can capture memories in the photobooth sponsored by InnPower and InnServices, meet Olaf and Sonic, and watch a Juggling Jack Frost.

Residents are encouraged to head across campus and continue their day at the Rizzardo Health & Wellness Centre for the Health and Wellness Fair happening from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will feature more than 15 vendors—including healthcare providers, community and social service organizations—as well as workshops and demonstrations. People can learn about the Town’s new Mobile Seniors Active Living Centre, programs at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, and community cooking programs in the Horodynsky Community Kitchen.

The day continues with a free family skate at the Innisfil Recreational Complex’s Cortellucci (Red) Rink from 12:30 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. Innisfil’s new Junior C hockey team, the Innisfil Spartans, will be there to join families on the ice with their new mascot. In the same building, the Innisfil YMCA is offering free swims for Innisfil residents. Take part in the diversity swim from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. or the open swim from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Photo ID required.

Finish the day by cheering on the Innisfil Spartans at their home game that evening starting at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available at the door, cash only. Children and students can get tickets for a discounted rate of $5 each.

Those attending events on the Town’s Civic Campus this weekend are encouraged to drop off a donation for the Troy Scott Community Fridge outside the north entrance of the Innisfil Recreational Complex.
