Innisfil, ON – Cleanup and restoration efforts are actively underway at the Innisfil Recreational Complex (IRC) following a recent fire on the facility’s roof. To ensure the safety of all users, the IRC will remain closed for at least another week while required inspections and remediation work are completed.

Although a specific full or partial reopening date cannot yet be confirmed, reopening the facility safely and as soon as possible remains a top priority.

A temporary patch has been installed on the roof to prevent further water damage. While the exact cause of the fire is still undetermined, the west side of the building, which includes the pool operating equipment, sustained significant damage. The soccer fields and baseball diamonds at the IRC are available for bookings.

During the closure, all rentals, registered programs and drop-in activities at the IRC are suspended. Registered program participants and rental bookings will be notified directly. Meanwhile, the Teen Nights program, usually held at the IRC on Wednesdays, will temporarily relocate to the Stroud Innisfil Community Centre.

The Troy Scott Community Fridge outside the north entrance of the IRC remains operational for those wishing to donate or access the fridge and pantry.

The Town thanks the community for its patience and understanding during this time. For ongoing updates, please follow the Town of Innisfil on social media.
