Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil is calling on residents to take action and help keep the local environment clean by participating in Pitch-In Day on Saturday, May 10. Pitch-In Day is an annual community-wide cleanup aimed at collecting litter from road edges, parks, public trails, and road ends.

“Pitch-In Day is a great way to make a visible difference and show pride in our town,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “It’s incredible to see residents of all ages come together to make this day a success year after year. I want to thank the Pitch-In Day Working Group, participating schools, supporting businesses, and every volunteer who steps up to make a difference.”

Participants are asked to register online to help the Town determine the level of participation and plan accordingly. Cleanup kits, which include garbage bags, gloves and safety information, are now available for pick-up at:

  • Innisfil Town Hall (2101 Innisfil Beach Road)
  • Innisfil ideaLAB & Library – Cookstown Branch (20 Church Street)
  • Innisfil ideaLAB & Library – Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Road)
  • Innisfil ideaLAB & Library – Stroud Branch (7883 Yonge Street)

Participants can also grab cleanup kits on May 10 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Fire Station 1 (780 Innisfil Beach Road) and Fire Station 2 (1214 20th Sideroad).

As a thank you to volunteers, an appreciation barbecue will follow the cleanup at Centennial Park (2870 7th Line) from 12 to 1:30 p.m. All participants are welcome to enjoy free refreshments, food, and prize draws.
