Back to SearchInnisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil is teaming up with community partners to encourage residents to explore Innisfil in all its wintertime splendour. Each weekend from January 27 to February 25 will feature Innisfil’s Winter Weekends—a series of outdoor and indoor events to help beat the winter blues.
“While the weather might be cold and frosty, winter in Innisfil is an exciting time of year,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “We invite residents to embrace the beauty of the great outdoors and take part in cherished indoor activities across town. Along with our dedicated community partners, Town Council is proud to support these events to give residents something to look forward to each weekend this winter as we enjoy our four-season home.”
Winter Weekends aims to create a unique experience centred around ice and snow while encouraging community connection with free or low-cost activities. Some special events include:
- Innisfil Town Square Grand Opening Weekend from January 27 to 29
- Innisfil Lions Club 50th Anniversary Celebration on January 28
- Pancake Breakfast with Town of Innisfil Council at the Innisfil Recreational Complex on February 4
- Health & Wellness Fair at the Rizzardo Health & Wellness Centre on February 4
- The Cookstown Experience presented by members of the Cookstown & District Chamber of Commerce on February 11 and 12
- Innisfil Historical Society – “Way We Were” Family Day event on February 20
- Innisfil Community Events Corporation’s Polar Bear Dip on February 25
Other programs and activities happening throughout the Winter Weekends include:
- Ice Hut Art
- Free skates at town-operated arenas
- Free Innisfil YMCA programs featuring pickleball, drop-in basketball, yoga, and open swims
- Drop-in dance parties at Miss Jennie’s Performing Arts Studio
- Innisfil Spartans Junior C hockey games
