The Town of Innisfil is requesting public feedback to help shape an improved municipal communications strategy. Community members are encouraged to participate in a brief survey to share their preferred methods of connecting with and hearing from the Town.

“Effective communication plays a vital role in fostering a strong and connected community,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “With significant changes in the media industry and the rapidly evolving digital landscape, it’s crucial for us to understand how residents prefer to receive information regarding municipal programs and services. Our goal with this initiative is to make citizen engagement and government transparency more accessible and inclusive for all populations."

In line with the Town's efforts to refresh its 2020-2030 strategic plan, the development of a comprehensive communications strategy is integral to achieving community goals. The strategy will not only serve as a framework for two-way communication and engagement, but also support pillars of service outlined in the strategic plan update. By actively involving residents in the decision-making process, the Town aims to develop a tailored approach to communication that caters to the unique and diverse needs of the community.

Everyone in Innisfil, from residents and business owners to students, workers, and occasional visitors, is invited to take the survey, which will remain open until November 17, 2023 at getinvolvedinnisfil.ca/LetsTalk. Alternatively, paper copies are available at Innisfil Town Hall and at each of the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s three branches.

Those who participate in the survey and choose to leave contact information will have a chance to win a $100 gift card to an Innisfil grocery store of their choice.

The survey marks the initial phase of a public consultation process that will continue into 2024 and include in-depth conversations with community groups.
