Innisfil, ON – In honour of National Volunteer Week (NVW), the Town of Innisfil is kicking off the annual celebration with a special Volunteer Appreciation Social to thank and recognize community volunteers.

The event is taking place on Sunday,  April 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library’s Lakeshore Branch (967 Innisfil Beach Road). There will be food, refreshments, and camaraderie for all. Local volunteers must register to attend and are asked to RSVP by Sunday, March 31 at innisfil.ca/VolunteerSocial.

“Volunteers are the heartbeat of our community, and their dedication is what makes Innisfil such a vibrant and caring place to live,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. "National Volunteer Week gives us the opportunity to express our gratitude and celebrate their incredible efforts.”

NVW is taking place across Canada from April 14-20, 2024. This year’s NVW theme is Every Moment Matters. It highlights the importance of every volunteer and each contribution they make at a moment when people need support more than ever. From providing services that feed and clothe residents to uplifting art, culture and heritage, Innisfil’s volunteers share time, skills, and empathy that help build a stronger, more resilient community.
