Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil has launched its In-Demand Careers Inventory & Job Profiles, a new resource designed to help local employers, jobseekers, and workforce development partners better understand the careers most in demand in the community. 

This initiative provides insights into local labour market trends, high-demand occupations, and the skills employers are looking for in and around Innisfil. By identifying priority roles and mapping the qualifications required, the Town aims to connect residents with meaningful employment opportunities while supporting the workforce needs of local businesses.

“Innisfil is a community full of talent, ambition, and opportunity,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “By identifying the careers most in demand right now, we’re giving residents clear pathways to good jobs close to home and providing employers with a tool they can use to support their recruitment efforts.”  

Through research and direct employer engagement, the Town identified 25 high-demand careers across key sectors. From this list, 10 detailed job profiles were developed, outlining role expectations, required qualifications, core skills, and future growth potential. The key sectors represented include:

  • Advanced Manufacturing 
  • Agri-tech & Food Processing 
  • Creative Industries
  • Tourism 
  • Life Sciences 
  • Clean-tech Supply Chain 

The Top 10 Job Profiles (in no particular order) are: Electrician; Heavy Equipment Operator; Hospitality & Tourism Support Staff; HVAC Technician; Maintenance Technician / Millwright; Personal Support Worker; Production Supervisor / Lead Hand; Quality Assurance Technician; Registered Nurse; and Welder / Fabricator. 

Tarpin Lumber is an Innisfil based lumber yard and truss manufacturer that has served the community for more than 40 years. Tarpin provided business insights through the community consultation phase of the project.
