Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil invites local organizations and groups hosting food-based projects to apply for the Community Food Projects Grant. This funding opportunity is available thanks to financial support from the Commonwell Mutual Insurance Group’s Learning Engagement & Accelerator Fund (L.E.A.F) program.

“The Town of Innisfil runs food programs to improve food security for our residents, but we can’t reach everyone. Community organizations and groups know their own community best,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “That’s what the new Community Food Projects Grant is for—to support these groups and the great work that they are doing.”

The Town is offering $1,000 grants to 10 community groups or organizations. All non-profit, charitable, faith-based, or volunteer-led groups that provide services in Innisfil or to Innisfil residents are welcome to apply with food-based projects that:

  • Take place in town between March 14 and July 31, 2026
  • Promote community connection, celebrate cultural diversity, or improve food access
  • Are inclusive and accessible, especially for vulnerable or underrepresented residents
  • Are geared toward Innisfil residents

Applications open on February 1 and will remain open throughout the month. Interested groups can learn more and apply at innisfil.ca/grants.
