The Town of Innisfil is seeking feedback on the updated draft of the Community Planning Permit System (CPPS) By-law for Alcona and the town’s shoreline area. Community members are encouraged to have their say by taking part in two public engagement events:

  • Drop-In Open House – Tuesday, May 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Innisfil Town Hall
  • Public Meeting – Wednesday, May 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Innisfil Town Hall and online

These sessions offer a chance to explore the revised draft, see how previous community feedback has been incorporated, and offer additional input.

“The CPPS will provide greater certainty and transparency for everyone involved in the planning application approval process,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “This approach helps simplify how we manage growth and change, by combining multiple application steps into one clear and efficient process. It also gives us the flexibility we need to support thoughtful, well-designed development that aligns with our values as a community. As we move forward with updating our Official Plan, the CPPS will be a vital tool to help us bring our collective vision to life and ensure we’re building a community that works for today and for future generations.”

The CPPS will eventually apply town-wide, replacing the Town’s current Zoning By-law. It will allow zoning adjustments, minor variances, and detailed site plan applications to be reviewed as a single application and approval process, instead of two or three separate processes.

At the May 13 Open House, attendees can review the latest updates, chat with project team members, and share their thoughts. During the May 21 Public Meeting, Town staff will present the draft by-law to Council, and attendees may speak directly to Council with their feedback or concerns. The meeting will also be livestreamed on the Town’s YouTube Channel.

Feedback collected during both events will be used to further refine the by-law before it is brought back to Council for final consideration and adoption at a future meeting.
