Innisfil, ON – Due to the weather forecast, the Town of Innisfil is switching to a virtual format for the Official Plan Review ‘open house’ that was scheduled for January 6.

The Official Plan review is a key document that will guide how the town grows and develops through to 2051.

Individuals can share their input at two public engagement events:

  • Open House – Virtual
Tuesday, January 6, presentation begins at 5 pm
During this session, which will be recorded, there will be an opportunity for participants to use the question feature. Access the meeting using the Zoom webinar link.
  • Public Meeting
    Wednesday, January 21, 6:30 p.m.
Innisfil Town Hall and livestreamed on the Town’s YouTube channel

The draft Official Plan applies to the entire Town and includes recommended Settlement Area Boundary Expansions (SABEs) for Alcona and Stroud. It sets policies and mapping that influence:

  • Land use and urban design
  • New homes and housing options
  • Infrastructure planning
  • Jobs and business development
  • Climate change adaptation
  • Environmental protections

Feedback collected during both public engagement events will be used to further refine the draft plan before it is brought to Innisfil Council for final consideration and adoption at a future meeting.

The draft Official Plan can be reviewed on the Town’s Get Involved Innisfil platform at getinvolvedinnisfil.ca/OPR.

The proposed County of Simcoe Official Plan Amendment is available for review at simcoe.ca/services/planning/amendments-and-current-applications.
