InnServices, the Water and Wastewater Utility for the Town of Innisfil, is undertaking a Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to identify the most cost effective and environmentally sustainable approach to provide wastewater servicing for the community of Cookstown, as well as the employment and residential area at Highway 400 and Highway 89. This Study will be conducted in accordance with the requirements for a Schedule C project under the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class EA process.

The Town of Innisfil has developed updated growth projections for Cookstown and the Highway 400 and Highway 89 area. InnServices has also recently completed environmental studies of the effluent receiver, Innisfil Creek.

To ensure all those interested have an opportunity to provide input to the Class EA Study, two Public Information Centres (PIC) will be held. Wastewater servicing solutions will be presented at the PICs and public input is welcome. Once the Class EA Study is complete, an Environmental Study Report will also be shared for public review and comment.

Interested parties are encouraged to visit the Cookstown Water Pollution Control Plant Class EA webpage to stay up to date on project updates, issued notices and shared study material.

If you have any questions or comments and/or would like to be added to the Study’s mailing list, please contact one of the study representatives.
