Notice of Passage – Community Planning Permit System
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Innisfil passed the Community Planning Permit System (CPPS) By-law No. 058-25 on the 25th day of June 2025, under Section 34 of the Planning Act, 1990, as amended.
THE PURPOSE AND EFFECT of the CPPS By-law No. 058-25 is to implement policies of the Town’s Official Plan through a Community Planning Permit System and addresses zoning amendments, minor variances and site plan agreements under one application.
THE SUBJECT LANDS affected by this Amendment are shown on the key map and on Schedule A to By-law 058-25 being parcels of land abutting Lake Simcoe (i.e. with frontage on Lake Simcoe) including lots with direct access across from a public road or private land where these lots are functionally connected to Lake Simcoe and lands within the Primary Settlement Area, Alcona, within the Town of Innisfil.
COUNCIL CONSIDERED all written and oral submissions received regarding this Amendment. Staff Report DSR-098-25 to Council contains more information on the details of this Amendment. No objections to this Amendment were received by the public, agencies or Council. Questions and comments regarding this Amendment are addressed in Staff Report DSR-098-25.
AND TAKE NOTICE that any person or agency may appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal in respect to the By-law by filing a notice of appeal with the Town Clerk either via the Ontario Land Tribunal e-file service (first-time users will need to register for a My Ontario Account) at olt.gov.on.ca/e-file-service by selecting Town of Innisfil as the Approval Authority or by mail to 2101 Innisfil Beach Road, Innisfil, Ontario, L9S 1A1 no later than 4:30 p.m. on July 30, 2025. The filing of an appeal after 4:30 p.m., in person or electronically, will be deemed to have been received the next business day. The appeal fee of $1,100 can be paid online through e-file or by certified cheque/money order to the Minister of Finance, Province of Ontario. If you wish to appeal to the Ontario Land Tribunal (OLT) or request a fee reduction for an appeal, forms are available from the OLT website at olt.gov.on.ca. If the e-file portal is down, you can submit your appeal to clerksoffice@innisfil.ca.
Only individuals, corporations and public bodies may appeal a By-law to the OLT. A Notice of Appeal may not be filed by an unincorporated association or group. However, a notice of appeal may be filed in the name of an individual who is a member of the association or the group on its behalf.
No person or public body shall be added as a party to the hearing of the appeal unless, before the By-law was passed, the person or public body made oral submissions at a public meeting or written submissions to Council or, in the opinion of the OLT, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
