New DMZ Innisfil Launchpad program to help aspiring entrepreneurs start their business

Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil Economic Development Office is excited to announce the launch of DMZ Innisfil Launchpad. Delivered through the Town’s DMZ Innisfil business accelerator, this new program runs from May 6 to June 10 to empower early-stage entrepreneurs to launch a business successfully.
“DMZ Innisfil Launchpad reflects our commitment to building a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem right here in Innisfil,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “By assisting our residents with the tools and support they need, we are investing in the future of our local economy."
DMZ Innisfil Launchpad will offer a mix of virtual and in-person platforms to provide training, coaching, and networking opportunities. The program will include:
- Online courses: A self-paced learning experience featuring 80+ expert-curated lessons designed to demystify the startup process and help participants navigate early-stage challenges.
- Three virtual workshops: Collaborative group sessions led by experienced mentors, focusing on idea validation, product development, and go-to-market strategies.
- Three in-person meetups: Opportunities to network with peers, program coaches, and local entrepreneurs, fostering valuable connections within the community.
Upon completion of this program, participants are introduced to additional support programs and resources offered by local ecosystem partners. This ensures DMZ Innisfil Launchpad graduates have ongoing access to the guidance and tools they need to launch and grow their businesses.
“Early-stage entrepreneurship can feel overwhelming, but the DMZ Innisfil Launchpad program is designed to break down those barriers,” says Laura Thompson, Manager of Economic Development. “We’re proud to collaborate with the County of Simcoe to offer a program that equips aspiring founders with both practical knowledge and a strong support network.”
Registration is free and open to all business owners and residents of Simcoe County, Barrie, and Orillia. Interested participants must register by May 2 at innisfil.ca/Launchpad.
