Mayor’s Business Breakfast and Innisfil Business Achievement Awards taking place on April 16
Innisfil, ON – Members of the Innisfil business community are invited to attend the Mayor’s Business Breakfast, from 8 to 11 a.m. on April 16, 2026 at the Lake Club Restaurant at Friday Harbour Resort (330 Sunseeker Ave, Innisfil).
The Mayor’s Business Breakfast will include remarks from Innisfil Mayor, Lynn Dollin, and an economic outlook provided by Robert Lavigne, Executive Vice President, Economic Research of OMERS Administration Corporation. The Economic Development Office is also excited to launch the inaugural Innisfil Business Achievement Awards during the event, which will recognize the outstanding achievements of Innisfil businesses and entrepreneurs.
“These awards are about celebrating the entrepreneurs, innovators, and employers who make Innisfil a dynamic place to live, work, and invest,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “Our local businesses are at the heart of our community’s success, and this is an opportunity to recognize their impact.”
These awards will highlight excellence in five categories:
- Innisfil Business of the Year Award: Celebrates an established Innisfil business that contributes meaningfully to the local economy through job creation, customer service excellence, or sustained business success.
- DMZ Innisfil Entrepreneur of the Year Award: Recognizes an Innisfil entrepreneur who completed the DMZ Innisfil Startup Incubator or Business Accelerator program and demonstrates traction, innovation or job creation.
- Leader in Growth & Innovation Award: Honours a business that has achieved measurable growth or implemented innovative approaches to expand operations, improve services, or enter new markets. This award recognizes organizations that are evolving and helping drive economic momentum in Innisfil.
- Workplace Excellence Award: Recognizes a business that demonstrates leadership in creating a positive workplace culture through talent development, inclusive practices, or innovative approaches to workforce engagement.
- Innisfil Community Impact Award: Celebrates a business that goes beyond commercial success to make meaningful contributions to the community through partnerships, volunteerism, sustainability initiatives, or social impact efforts that strengthen Innisfil.
“This award program is about shining a spotlight on the businesses that are driving economic momentum in Innisfil,” says Laura Thompson, Manager of Economic Development. “From long-standing local employers to emerging entrepreneurs, our business community reflects the ambition, collaboration, and community spirit that defines Innisfil.”
Business community members are encouraged to take part by registering for the Mayor’s Business Breakfast by April 6, 2026 at innisfil.ca/MayorsBreakfast.
Nominations for the Innisfil Business Achievement Awards are now open and community members, customers, and business owners are encouraged to nominate businesses they believe demonstrate excellence in one of the above categories.
