Whereas local government is the cornerstone of democracy in Canada, providing essential services and fostering community engagement in the Town of Innisfil; and

Whereas local government officials, both elected and appointed, must uphold the trust of the public by ensuring transparency, accountability, and integrity in governance; and

Whereas Local Government Week provides an opportunity to educate and engage citizens regarding the role and function of local government in improving community well-being and quality of life; and

Whereas the Town of Innisfil is committed to inclusive governance through outreach and engagement programs that encourage public participation and foster civic pride among residents; and

Whereas the dedicated staff and volunteers of the Town of Innisfil strive to deliver efficient and responsive services, contributing to the vibrancy and sustainability of our community; and

Whereas recognizing and celebrating the efforts of municipal workers promotes awareness and appreciation for their contributions to public administration and community building; and

Therefore, I, Mayor Dollin of the Town of Innisfil, do hereby proclaim October 19-25, 2025, as Local Government Week in the Town of Innisfil, and encourage all residents to participate in events and initiatives that highlight the importance of local government in shaping the future of our community.
