Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil is excited to share it is investing in the community by entering into an agreement with CONTACT Community Services to develop a database for volunteer opportunities available in the town. This partnership is a direct result of the town’s Community Needs Assessment (CNA) which identified residents wanted to have access to volunteer opportunities available in the community.

“We live in an incredibly caring community and heard from residents through the CNA they wanted to give back through volunteering,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “CONTACT Community Services has a 44-year history of connecting the residents of South Simcoe with services, including volunteer opportunities, and we are excited to work with them to develop and share the opportunities available.”

This partnership project has two priority groups: those organizations looking for volunteers, and those living in Innisfil looking to give back.

Organizations seeking volunteers are encouraged to post opportunities on the Volunteer South Simcoe database via CONTACT Community Services’ website and, in the near future, a robust outreach program will begin to promote this service and the partnership to organizations and individuals.

CONTACT’s history includes acting as the regional volunteer centre in South Simcoe. “We recognize the critical role volunteers play in the health of communities through their contribution of time and expertise,” says Emily McIntosh, Executive Director. “There is no shortage of organizations requiring volunteer support and we are excited to support their needs by connecting with potential volunteers from all walks of life in this endeavor. We are thrilled to be working with the Town of Innisfil to ensure both organizations and residents are supported in navigating the ‘right match’ between organizational need and volunteer skill sets to ultimately build community capacity.”
