Innisfil, ON – Following the heat warning issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Town of Innisfil is opening cooling stations starting on Wednesday, July 26.

The cooling stations will be available at the following Innisfil ideaLAB & Library branches during operating hours until the heat warning has ended:

  • Cookstown Branch - 20 Church Street
  • Lakeshore (Alcona) Branch - 967 Innisfil Beach Road
  • Stroud Branch - 7883 Yonge Street

According to the alert, the heat warning is expected to continue through to Friday, July 28. When temperatures are high, overexertion will increase the risk of heat exhaustion, dehydration or heat stroke. During periods of heat, you should be careful of your health and look for ways to avoid overheating.

Residents are encouraged to check in on family and friends who are more vulnerable to the effects of extreme heat to make sure they’re staying safe.
