Innisfil, ON – The flags at Innisfil Town Hall will be lowered to half-staff to mark the observance of Firefighters’ National Memorial Day on September 11.

The second Sunday in September is designated in memory of firefighters who have fallen in the line of duty. Firefighters’ National Memorial Day commemorates their courage, their selflessness, and their unwavering commitment to serving our communities.

“Our firefighters are incredibly skilled and committed to keeping our communities safe,” says Brent Thomas Fire Chief, Town of Innisfil/Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury. “When we respond to a call, our goal is always to ensure the safety of residents and our fire crews. The National Memorial Day is important to all of us to recognize, respect and remember those firefighters who have fallen and to give thanks to dedicated men and women who continue to serve their communities with pride and to those who have previously served.”
