Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil has launched a one-year pilot to bring a new transit hub to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 547. Located at 1017 Robinson St., Innisfil Legion 547 will be joining the 11 existing transit hubs found across town.

“We’re so pleased to add the Innisfil Legion to our list of transit hubs,” said Mayor Lynn Dollin. “As the only transit hub in Belle Ewart, we hope that this action will not only provide a much-needed service to our veterans but also improve connectivity within and across our town.”

Offered through a partnership with Uber, Innisfil Transit typically subsidizes $4 off the cost of an Uber trip within Innisfil’s borders. Transit hubs work differently. A transit hub is a designated location that can be used as the start or end point of an Uber trip to access additional discounted fares. Trips to or from Innisfil Legion 547 will cost $4.10 when booked through Innisfil Transit.

The pilot is currently scheduled to run until May 8, 2026, and will be monitored for ridership and use. This is part of a larger effort to make public transit more accessible to Innisfil residents, now and in the future. Other active projects include:

  • Multiple Youth-Based Voucher: A pilot voucher program for families with two or more children to book multi-passenger trips to or from transit hubs when using Innisfil Transit.
  • Transit Master Plan: A plan to outline how public transit will evolve in Innisfil over the next 10 years. Currently, the Town is asking for community feedback on four possible options of what Innisfil Transit could look like in the future through a survey that closes on June 15. Survey respondents can enter to win a $100 gift card (terms and conditions apply).
