Innisfil, ON – On the evening of Tuesday, December 14, Mayor Lynn Dollin, Members of Council, and members of the Innisfil community gathered at Innisfil Beach Park for the lighting of Innisfil’s Hope Tree.
The Hope Tree was created in 2020 as a symbol of hope and resiliency during the COVID-19 pandemic. As COVID-19 continues to challenge our community, the Hope Tree was once again lit up as a way to celebrate the holiday season, unite the community, and give residents an opportunity to share their hopes for the future.

“The pandemic has reshaped our daily lives with continued challenges and changes but, together, we persevere,” said Mayor Lynn Dollin. “The Hope Tree is a symbol of our collective resilience as well as our hope for a brighter future.”

The Hope Tree project is a joint collaboration of the Town of Innisfil and the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, and is proudly supported by Council. It supports mental health and community building – two priority areas identified by our community during the Town’s ongoing Community Needs Assessment which is being conducted to support residents through the COVID-19 pandemic. While visiting the Hope Tree, residents will notice a mailbox nearby, and are encouraged to drop off letters, notes, or pictures with their hopes for the future. The notes will be collected and then shared through social media to connect and inspire our community.
