Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil is inviting residents to celebrate National Youth Week with free, fun-filled activities designed for teens and other young community members from May 2 to 8. Recognized annually across Canada, National Youth Week highlights the contributions of young people and encourages their involvement in community life.

This year, the Town is collaborating with community organizations to deliver a full week of events, including the Open House celebrations of Innisfil’s Teen Nights on:

  • May 2 at the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library, Lakeshore Branch
  • May 5 at the Morgan Russell Memorial Arena & Community Centre
  • May 7 at the Innisfil YMCA

Each open house will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. to mark the one-year anniversary of the program with games, crafts, special Teen Nights swag, refreshments and more.

“Since launching Teen Nights last year, we’ve had over 700 participants register for the program and have hosted 133 sessions in partnership with the Innisfil ideaLAB & Library and the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “I encourage any parent or guardian with kids in Grade 7 and above to join us at the Teen Nights open houses to explore these free and safe spaces for teens.”

Though Teen Nights are usually for teens only, the open houses are a great opportunity for teens to bring their family and other community members to experience these spaces for themselves.

The fun doesn’t stop there! The Town and its community partners will host several other events throughout the week, including:

  • Youth & First Responders B-Ball
