Enjoy a February full of fun with Innisfil's Winter Weekends
Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil is bringing back the Winter Weekends event series this February to encourage residents to stay active and connected this season. There will be many free or low-cost events and programs all month long, with signature events each weekend.
“Innisfil’s Winter Weekends reminds us that the best way to enjoy winter is together,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “We’re thrilled to bring back fun events and showcase community-organized happenings that encourage residents to experience the warmth of our community, even in the chilliest season.”
Residents are invited to kick off Winter Weekends at Breakfast with Council on February 1 at the Innisfil Recreational Complex from 9 to 11 a.m. The event will feature a free breakfast, live children’s music, giveaways, a photo booth, and more. This year’s Breakfast with Council is supported through OLG’s Community Recognition Program, which enables host municipalities like Innisfil to highlight the local benefits from gaming revenues. Since November 2001, OLG has contributed $111,531,041 to the Town of Innisfil. Money received through OLG is part of a Municipality Contribution Agreement that goes toward improving Innisfil’s economic and social development, infrastructure, and more.
“OLG is proud of the support provided to the Town of Innisfil through the Municipality Contribution Agreement,” says Kathleen Devine, OLG’s Senior Municipal Relations Manager. “This includes funds for critical infrastructure projects across the city and for various local programs and community festivals. Each and every year, 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in Ontario to support provincial priorities and help build stronger communities. We also appreciate the contribution of gaming employees at Gateway Casinos Innisfil who are making life in the Town of Innisfil that much better.”
