Employee Feature: Morteza's Story

My journey with the Town of Innisfil began when I started as DMZ Innisfil Program Coordinator in early 2022. As a part of the amazing Economic Development team, I coordinate a program to support Innisfil's businesses with mentorship, community building and office space to grow and hit their goals, as well as our goals to create jobs for Innisfil's growing population. On a daily basis, I identify high-potential businesses, work on designing the incubator program, work with mentors to support other businesses, and hold events to build and grow our community and ecosystem.

I am really proud of our team for supporting a number of companies in securing $13 million in fundraising and grants and assisting them in creating 88 new full-time and 48 new part-time jobs in the area. The positive and supportive work environment is what stands out to me and it sets the Town of Innisfil apart from other places. Also, the focus on work-life balance and hybrid work options are amazing!

I'm so happy that I get to work in a very collaborative work environment and have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects at the same time. I’m grateful for the experiences and skills I have gained while working here and appreciate the continuous support of my manager and colleagues.
