Employee Feature: Kishmita's Story
My journey with the Town of Innisfil began last September when I joined the Town of Innisfil as a Vision Maker / Policy Planner with the Planning Department on a contract. Earlier this year, I transitioned to the role on a full-time basis!
What I love most about working for the Town of Innisfil is the openness to innovation. I really enjoy working in a flexible and thriving environment that fosters creativity and innovation in employees, and the strong sense of community within the Town that values the well-being of its employees. The environment at the Town, and within my team, encourages us to work together for the betterment of the community.
The project I’m most excited to work on is the Town-wide Community Planning Permit System (CPPS) Study which is a critical project defining the new land use planning tool for the Town especially in the light of recent legislative changes. I am thrilled and proud to be a part of such a ground-breaking project in the capacity of a Project Manager, as Innisfil will be among a small number of municipalities in the province which will have a town-wide CPPS system in place.
While with the Town, I have also volunteered my time with the Health and Wellness Team in the Horodynsky Community Kitchen to help prepare meals and baked goods for the Troy Scott Community Fridges. I enjoy cooking and baking therefore, it makes me feel fulfilled to do something for the community.
Since joining the Town, I have moved to Innisfil to build a life here for myself and have made so many good friends at work who not only helped me in settling here, but have always looked out for me as well. I strongly believe that I have discovered some good long-term friendships here because of the Town!
