Beat the winter blues with Innisfil's Winter Weekends
Innisfil, ON – The Town of Innisfil is bringing back Winter Weekends this February, with free programs and events happening throughout the month.
“Winter Weekends is a fun, affordable way to get out, get active, and enjoy winter in Innisfil,” says Mayor Lynn Dollin. “We’re looking forward to seeing families and friends out at events across town, sharing laughs, making memories, and embracing the season together.”
Winter Weekends kicks off with Breakfast with Council on February 1 at the Innisfil Recreational Complex from 9 to 11 a.m. The event includes a free breakfast, live children’s music, face painting, a photobooth, and more.
Breakfast with Council is supported through OLG’s Community Recognition Program, which highlights the local benefits of gaming revenues. Since November 2001, OLG has contributed $120,084,670 to the Town of Innisfil through a Municipality Contribution Agreement. These funds help support community priorities such as economic and social development, infrastructure improvements, and more.
“OLG is proud to be a vital part of the Town of Innisfil,” says Kathleen Devine, OLG’s Senior Municipal Relations Manager. “For the last 50 years, since the organization’s start in 1975, 100 per cent of OLG profits are reinvested in Ontario to support provincial priorities. From critical infrastructure to important local programs to community festivals, OLG’s profits are hard at work in the Town of Innisfil and across our province to build stronger communities. We also appreciate the contribution of gaming employees at Gateway Casinos Innisfil who are making life in your community that much better. When you play at an Ontario casino, you play for Ontario.”
