Innisfil opens cooling stations due to heat warning

Innisfil, ON – Following the heat warning issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada, the Town of Innisfil is opening cooling stations starting on Wednesday, July 26.

The cooling stations will be available at the following Innisfil ideaLAB & Library branches during operating hours until the heat warning has ended:

  • Cookstown Branch - 20 Church Street
  • Lakeshore (Alcona) Branch - 967 Innisfil Beach Road
  • Stroud Branch - 7883 Yonge Street

Road closure: Innisfil Beach Road/Highway 400 Closures

Update: The Phase 1 closure has been extended to approximately 7 p.m. on July 27.

Innisfil, ON –  The next phase of road closures at Innisfil Beach Road/Highway 400 has been shared with the Town by the Ministry of Transportation.

There will be no access from Highway 400 Northbound to Innisfil Beach Road (IBR) Eastbound or Westbound from July 25 to September 1, 2023. The construction completion date is estimated and subject to change.

Road closure: 9th Line (Yonge Street to 20th Sideroad)

9th Line from Yonge Street to 20th Sideroad will be closed for paving from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on July 18-21, 2023. Local traffic only—no through access.

What to expect

Driveway access will be maintained throughout the road closure. Residents on the east side of the rail corridor will have access to their home from 20th Sideroad, while residents on the west side of the rail corridor will have access to their home from Yonge Street.
