Innisfil issues holiday hours and safety reminders for the Canada Day long weekend

Innisfil, ON – As the long weekend approaches, the Town of Innisfil is reminding residents of holiday hours, fireworks safety, and park information to help everyone have a safe, memorable Canada Day.

Holiday hours

Innisfil Town Hall will be closed for the statutory holiday on Monday, July 3.

Fireworks can be set off without a permit on Canada Day between dusk and 11 p.m. Fireworks cannot be set off on land owned by the Town without written consent and must meet certain setback criteria...

Residents advised to exercise caution near flooded areas

Update: All roads have been reopened.

Innisfil, ON – Significant rainfall and heavy downpours are leading to localized flooding in some low-lying areas in Innisfil. Town Staff and Innisfil Fire & Rescue Services have been deployed to take necessary action and respond to flooded areas.

At this time, the following road closures are in place:

  • 7th Line from Quarry Drive to Wingrove Avenue
  • Belle Aire Beach Road from Willow Street to Maple Road
  • Buchanan Street from 9th Line to Crystal Beach Road

Road closures due to flooding

Significant rainfall and heavy downpours led to localized flooding in some low-lying areas in Innisfil. All road closures related to the June 27 flooding event have been reopened. 

Innisfil Beach Road, 7th Line, Belle Aire Beach Road, Buchanan Street, Goodfellow Avenue, and Maple Road have been reopened. The main access road within Innisfil Beach Park has also been cleared and the front gate reopened.

Construction at the South Innisfil Arboretum

South Innisfil Arboretum will be temporarily closed due to trail construction beginning July 4, 2023 at 8 a.m. The work is scheduled to be completed by the last week of July 2023, weather permitting.

What to expect

The Town is constructing a two-metre-wide limestone screenings trail at South Innisfil Arboretum and a two-metre-wide asphalt trail connecting the existing Nantyr Drive and Ralston Loop walkways. The trails will conform to AODA standards.
