Road closure: Webster Boulevard (6th Line to Corby Way)

Webster Boulevard will be closed from 6th Line to Corby Way starting at 7 a.m. on November 7 to approximately 6 p.m. on December 20, 2024 due to development works.

Road closure: 20th Sideroad and Lockhart Road

20th Sideroad (10th Line to Mapleview Drive) and Lockhart Road (Yonge Street to 25th Sideroad) will be closed on October 16 at 7 a.m. to October 17 at 6 p.m. for cross culvert installation. Local traffic only—no through access. Detour signage will be in place.

Road closure: Lockhart Road and 25 Sideroad

Lockhart Road from Earl Street to Poplar Road and 25th Sideroad from Henderson Drive to Ireton Street will be closed on October 21 at 7 a.m. to approximately 6 p.m. on December 13, 2024 for watermain installation and development works. Local traffic only—no through access. Detour signage will be in place.

Blue-green algae bloom confirmed: Lake Simcoe, Town of Innisfil

Update (July 22, 2024): The blue-green algae warning has been lifted. See the latest status of designated beaches across the Simcoe Muskoka region.

SIMCOE MUSKOKA – A blue-green algae bloom has been confirmed on the southeast shoreline of Kempenfelt Bay (Bear Point area) and the southwest shoreline of Lake Simcoe (Innisfil Beach Park area), Town of Innisfil. The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit is encouraging residents and visitors to exercise caution.

Construction impacts at Crossroads Park

Improvements are coming to Crossroads Park in Alcona! The project includes:

  • Resurfacing of the sports courts
  • Extending the existing asphalt pathway to connect the courts to Oriole Crescent
  • Fencing repairs and new park benches

Work is scheduled to start July 2, 2024 and is expected to conclude near the end of the month. The courts will not be available during construction, however, the playground will remain open.
