The Town has initiated text and map amendments to the Town’s CPPS By-law 058-25 to implement housekeeping updates intended to improve clarity, consistency and alignment with the Town’s Zoning By-law 080-13 and former CPPS ‘Our Shore’ By-law 062-17. The changes are intended to clarify how the By-law is applied. Key changes include:

  • Clarifying permitted uses and definitions
  • Updating exemptions, variation thresholds, and permit requirements particularly within the Shoreline Residential (SR) Precinct

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a dangerous gas you cannot see or smell. It is created by fuel-burning sources such as furnaces, fireplaces, stoves, and vehicles in garages. Because CO can cause serious illness or death, the laws in Ontario are changing to help keep everyone safe.

Starting January 1, 2026, you must have a CO alarm:

  • Next to every sleeping area
  • On every storey (floor) that does not have a bedroom (main floors and basements)
