Noise Exemption permits

Exemptions to the Town’s Noise By-Law have been granted to those listed in the table below. 

Residents will require a Noise Exemption Permit if any activities on your property exceed our Noise By-law prohibited times.  

Such activities may include:

  • parties and backyard weddings
  • the use of heavy construction equipment on Sundays

Commercial Builders and Contractors will require a Noise Exemption Permit to conduct commercial construction in residential areas on Saturdays between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm, excluding holiday weekends.

Other activities that may require a permit include:

  • Movie Shoots occurring evenings and weekends
  • Commercial special events (ex. Midnight Madness Sales) occurring outside regular business hours
  • Restaurant/Bar outdoor patios
