Bicycle Lane Installation
Bike Lane Information Boards

Starting in fall of 2019, the Town of Innisfil began installing bike lanes along Anna Maria Ave., Jans Blvd., Leslie Dr. and Webster Blvd. The bike lanes are temporary and will be in place for about one year as part of a pilot project to see whether residents enjoy them as an active means of transportation.
When feedback was gathered for the Transportation Master Plan, many residents had indicated a strong desire to have more bike lanes installed throughout Innisfil. Rather than install a wide network of bike lanes, as is common in other municipalities, the Town of Innisfil decided to simply install a few, to test and see whether they would be of use to residents.
The Town of Innisfil will be closely monitoring the use of the bike lanes by installing traffic measuring equipment, and there will be a survey at a later date for residents to provide their feedback. The Community Development Standards Team (By-Law Officers) will also be monitoring the bike lanes to make sure they are not obstructed.
If you would like to know when the survey is available please visit our engagement website and create an account to receive an e-mail notification for this project, and many others.
The bike lanes should be fully installed by October 25, 2019. The Town of Innisfil will be inspecting the works to make sure they are done according to traffic and safety standards. Work will be carried out overnight between the hours of 10:00 pm to 5:00 am. Please do not park vehicles on the side of these roads during construction hours.
As seen in the pictures below, there will still be plenty of ample parking available after the installation of the bike lanes.
Bicycle lanes are an excellent way to allow everyone to be more active, social and reduce their impact on the environment by opting to bike rather than drive. Research has shown that bike lanes are an inexpensive and effective way to foster healthier communities. They also help make our roads safer by providing clear lanes for motorists and cyclists to use.

Slurry Seal Program for 2019
What is slurry seal and why do we use it?
Slurry seal is a cold mix paving system using materials such as aggregate, asphalt emulsion and other fillers that can remedy a broad range of problems on streets. Not only will it fill cracks and voids that occur over time, it also seals the surface to protect it from weather. An all-weather, long lasting surface is created that offers skid resistance and improved handling characteristics for drivers. Applying slurry seal to our roads has proven to be a cost effective treatment that has made our roads last longer between paving projects.
This year we will be applying slurry seal to the following areas:
|3RD Line||COUNTY ROAD 27||5TH SIDEROAD|
|13TH Line||KIMBERLY STREET||TAYLOR STREET|
