Heritage Sign Project

In July 2013, Innisfil Council formally adopted the Innisfil Community Grant Program in order to support programs and activities which promote a broad range of initiatives that support the goals and objectives of Inspiring Innisfil 2020.

The Innisfil Heritage Committee was engaged to consider potential initiatives that would fulfil both the mandate of the Grant Program and to help achieve core objectives of Inspiring Innisfil 2020, namely, to help grow and promote the Town’s heritage assets while providing potential opportunities for heritage-related tourism initiatives.

The Committee recommended an initiative to implement a multi-phase heritage sign project which would identify and depict some of the original historical settlements within Innisfil along with commemorating important historical events, significant sites, and individuals throughout the Town.
