Recruitment during COVID-19
The health and safety of our team and community is our number one priority. As a result of COVID-19, some recruitments may be on hold. For critical roles, job interviews are now being conducted virtually by video call or teleconferencing, so that we can continue meeting with candidates while practicing physical distancing.
Tips for Candidates Advancing to a Virtual Interview
Video chats can seem intimidating if you’re not used to them. Here are a few tips to help you feel more comfortable with this new technology:
Find a quiet, private space for the interview. Don’t worry if children or pets appear on your screen—we appreciate that everyone is balancing various priorities at this time (so are we)!
When you receive a link to join a virtual meeting, take a few minutes to download any software required and test the access including your camera and speakers. Technical difficulties happen occasionally, and if they do, we will be sure to reconnect or find another means to continue with the interview.
Prepare exactly the same way you would if you were doing a face-to-face interview! Remember that the video or phone interview is simply a different format, but don’t let that rattle your nerves.
