The garage sale ban has been lifted. Residents are welcome to host and attend garage sales. The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has information on how to safely handle and exchange second-hand goods.
Failure to maintain physical distancing of at least two metres between people who do not live in the same household is extremely unsafe, but it is not illegal at this time and therefore cannot be enforced. Everyone should practise physical distancing to protect their self and others from the spread of COVID-19, even if it is not required by law.

Under recent changes to the Emergency Orders, short-term rentals may once again begin to take and fulfill new bookings. There are criteria that must be followed by owners of short-term rentals that fall under the jurisdiction of the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit. By-law also responds to reports under our municipal by-laws such as Noise, Zoning, Parking, and Clean Communities.

During non-business hours of the town’s by-law enforcement office, contact the South Simcoe Police Service using the non-emergency number at 705-436-2141. If there is an emergency that requires immediate police presence, dial 911.

Municipal By-law Enforcement Officers have been given the authority to demand proof of identification, and address and issue tickets.
It is an offence to fail to comply with any provision made under the province’s emergency orders, or to obstruct any person acting pursuant to such an order. South Simcoe Police, Town of Innisfil Enforcement and Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit are all working together to enforce the various orders. Offences are punishable by fines set by the Ontario Court of Justice.
