What is the Audit Committee?
The Audit Committee is an advising Committee to Council that assists Council in the provision of effective municipal government by reviewing the administrative systems regarding financial accounting, reporting, internal controls, safeguarding of corporate assets, compliance with legal, ethical and regulatory requirements and the efficient and effective use of resources.
The Audit Committee provides a focal point for communication between Council, the External Auditor and management, and facilitates an impartial, objective and independent review of management practices through the internal and external functions.
The committee meeting dates are assigned as required and are posted on the Town’s website at least 48 hours in advance of a meeting.
